The city of Rotterdam is getting an awesome ‘floating forest’ that should come to life during spring of 2016. Officially known as ‘The Bobbing Forest’, the idea was inspired by an art piece by Jorge Bakker. Local art collective ‘Mothership’ is behind the forest project, which consists of 20 floating trees, placed in the city’s canals.
The idea is that the trees are easy to move, if necessary, to other locations. Whereas, regular trees previously planted in the city have had to be cut down due to urban planning requirements. Take a look!
How the floating forest will look.

A trial of the project was a success!
