Although most children love to draw and paint, talking about art history is probably going to induce a yawn in many kids. That's where this new book by Belgian children's author Thaïs Vanderheyden comes in. To get children more interested in serious art and artists, Vanderheyden wrote and illustrated a book that talks about 30 of the world's most famous works of art, but with a clever twist. He reimagined these seminal works of art but replaced any people with animals, and simply added a few critters into any works that didn't originally contain human figures. The results are fun and wonderful. Not only are they an excellent way to help teach children about the history of art, they're also brilliant pieces in their own right. Check out these pictures and see if you can name the original artists.
