These awesome underwater thrusters are like something that Iron Man would own. This might be the coolest Christmas gift you could ever buy someone, but you'll need approval from the U.S. State Department (and $31,500) to do so.

Wearing this pair of six-inch thrusters will basically make you feel like some sort of awesome 007 type spy. Their job is to propel the wearer through the water at speeds of up to 3.5 knots, which is about 5.9 feet per second to those of us who aren't up to scratch on our nautical lingo. These propulsion pants can propel you for about 2 miles before running out of juice, but you can take a spare battery with you that can be switched underwater if you need to keep going further to do, y'know, spy stuff. These very same thrusters are currently in use by the United States military and are used for reconnaissance and rescue missions. As such, they come with very specific buying instructions:
"Only available from Hammacher Schlemmer for recreational use by U.S. citizens within U.S. territorial waters, its advanced design requires purchase approval from the U.S. Department of State."
