Animal show in circus is one of the most spectacular shows in the world. With lions and tigers jumping through flaming hoops, elephants in fancy costumes parading around, monkeys and horses doing acrobatic stunts. Circuses showcasing wild animals are indeed fun to watch. Most of us would certainly enjoy watching circus animals, but the animals don’t. As a matter of fact, living in a circus is like a living hell for these animals. What we don’t see beyond their stunning performances is their brutal and miserable ways of life. Behind the curtains, these poor animals are confined and abused by forcing them to undergo savage trainings. Just imagine all their pain and stress just to give people entertainment. This is why Circus Roncalli decided to put a stop on animal cruelty by using animal holograms instead of live animals.
Since 1976, Circus Roncalli has been using live animals on its animal shows. But with the emergence of technology and digital imagery, the German circus decided to replace live animals with animal holograms instead. Finally, circus industry found a way to embrace technology and set the animals free. Circus Roncalli worked together with Bluebox and Optoma to bring a jaw-dropping 3D holographic experience. Optoma laser projectors are installed inside the arena to cast a 360-degree visibility for the audience.
“We have been using Optoma projectors for 6 years and have consistently had a very positive experience in price, performance, and reliability. We needed a high contrast projector with great colors for the 3D effect and the ZU850’s 2,000,000:1 contrast is perfect for this project.”, Birger Wunderlich at Bluebox said.
For the past 40 years, Circus Roncalli has been using live animals in their shows
In 2018, Circus Roncalli decided to replace live animals with holograms in a campaign to stop animal cruelty
Circus Roncalli became the first circus to incorporate 3D animal holograms in their shows. The decision to swap live animals for holograms has gained overwhelming praise and approval from animal rights activists. These concerned people are also encouraging other circuses to follow suit and stop animal cruelty at once. In order to address the issue, the UK government introduces a bill to ban traveling circuses to use wild animals effective 2020.
