Grandson Dresses His 87-Year-Old Grandpa In His Clothes And Now He’s An Instagram Model

Fashion knows no age. With that being said, anyone can be fashionable and can even become fashion models at any age. As a matter of fact, supermodels Carmen Dell’Orefice and Daphne Selfe are still modeling today at the age of 88. These two ageless supermodels are proofs that age is just a number. And they have also inspired other people of senior age to not let their age dictate what to wear. If an 87-year-old man wants to wear a teenager outfit, then let him be. Who knows? He might also become an internet superstar for doing so. Just like this 87-year-old Japanese grandpa who is currently taking the Instagram world by storm. Meet Tetsuya, the 87-year-old Instagram model from Akita, Japan.

On his Instagram page, he wrote “I wear my grandson’s clothes” on his profile. And this pretty much sums up everything. This retired chemistry teacher made waves on social media by showing off the latest fashion wardrobes that most seniors would never dare to wear. Just as his profile description says, the modern outfits belong to his grandson Naoya Kudo.

It all started when Kudo went home to Akita to visit his grandpa for the Golden Week holiday. During his stay, Kudo decided to dress up his grandpa just for fun. Surprisingly, Tetsuya went along with it and let his grandson doll him up. That’s when Kudo thought of taking photos of his grandpa wearing his clothes. Tetsuya didn’t seem to mind at all. In fact, he seemed to love the idea.

“He was surprisingly enthusiastic about it,” Kudo recalls. “He gave a lot of suggestions about where to shoot and other things.”

Much to the delight of their relatives, Tetsuya wore his grandson’s avant-garde clothes and did photoshoots in different locations. From the fields and local beaches to the middle school where he used to work as a teacher, Akita Prefecture became his modeling platform. Tetsuya’s Instagram page quickly garnered over 67,000 followers in less than a month. As of this writing, the 87-year-old Instagram model already has more than 124,000 followers and still counting.
