If most people found an old, beaten up double-decker bus, they'd think it was nothing more than scrap, but one woman saw a whole lot of potential and ended up turning it into something awesome! Aleah, the proud owner of the bus, found it in a junkyard in British Columbia in 2012. The bus was made in 1963 and had quite an epic history: it was first used as public transport before being turned into team mascot and transport for the the Canadian teams in the 1978 Commonwealth Games. Let's see what Aleah did with this little piece of history!
This old bus doesn't look like much, but Aleah fell for its vintage charms and decided to take it home. Home being Saturna Island, the bus had to go on the ferry. It only just squeezed on!
Now came the hard work, with the help of her friends and the local community, Aleah set to refurbishing this vintage vehicle.
The inside of the bus was pretty dismal, so you can see that there was a lot to get done!
The exterior needed some work!
And the interior got a complete refit.
Any ideas what it's going to be yet?
Hope you guys are ready for the big reveal, because the new paint job gives it away!
Say "hello" to the Wild Thyme Coffee House.
The place has some awesome nooks for customers curl up in, and you can even play some vintage video games. Neat!
Meanwhile, the staff will be hard at work in the downstairs kitchen, whipping you up some tasty treats.
The place looks awesome!
Can you believe this incredible coffee house bus was abandoned and left to rot in a junk yard?
It's amazing what you can do with a vision and some hard work. And a little help from your friends!
