According to the latest statistics, 1.16% of the world population are vegans. This is why many companies are looking into creating vegan products suited for this group of people. Vegans can now finally satisfy their sweet tooth because Mondelez is planning to release the Cadbury Vegan Chocolate Bar.
The international food manufacturing company has allegedly spent two years developing a Vegan version of its famous milk chocolate bar. Last year, there have been rumors that the new Cadbury Vegan Chocolate Bar will be finally released in January 2020. But that didn’t happen. Although the company hasn’t confirmed a launch date, they revealed that the product is now on the testing phase. And it’s just a matter of time before it’s finally released to the market.

Cadbury Dairy Milk is one of the most popular chocolate bars in the world. And it’s no secret that the brand’s iconic ‘deliciously creamy’ flavor comes from cow’s milk. Of course, dairy milk and other animal-based foods are a big no-no for strict vegans. Instead of dairy milk, vegans use plant-based milk as an alternative. The most common plant-based milk is nut milk which is derived from almonds, cashew nuts, peanuts, soybeans, and other legumes. However, nut allergy is a also a common issue. Mondelez took these details into consideration in the making of the Cadbury Vegan Chocolate Bar.
The only possible solution is to find a non-dairy milk alternative that is not made from nuts. Besides, nuts are not the only plant-products that can produce milk. There’s also rice milk, hemp milk, oat milk, and coconut milk. (Note: despite its name, coconut is NOT a nut) Although the company hasn’t disclosed the type of plant-based milk used in Cadbury Vegan Chocolate Bar, it’s probably one of these alternatives. We’ll just have to wait until the product launch to discover this mystery.
“We are very aware of the rise in consumer interest towards vegan products and we have a brilliant R&D team in Bournville who are focused entirely on new products and innovation. Whilst there are no immediate plans for a vegan Cadbury bar, we have lots of exciting developments in the pipeline!”, a Mondel?z spokesperson said.
