“Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?” Well, if you know the answer to that question, chances are you’re going to love Kellogg’s new offering. Or at least the children in your household. In anticipation of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Kellogg’s is rolling out new SpongeBob Rice Krispies Treats. The movie is yet to hit the theaters in May. But apparently, the cereal brand is not willing to wait that long to bless us with a new themed snack. So, you better be ready, kids!
Thanks to Instagram user @thetastyturtle, we now have an idea of what the new crispy marshmallow squares look like. Plus, we can now be sure that they’re officially available in stores. In the post, the user claimed to have spotted the new treat at a local Walmart. It comes in a 320-gram value pack which includes 16 bars inside.
Kellog’s new SpongeBob Rice Krispies Treats are as bright and yellow as Mr. SquarePants himself!

As the packaging shows, the limited-edition Rice Krispies Treats come in the Original flavor. So, expect that these will stay true to the rice cereal and melted marshmallow flavor you’ve grown to love. And in terms of appearance? Well, they feature a nice, bright yellow color which is a nod to Mr. SquarePants himself! Hopefully, there will be a Patrick Star variant too!

Rumors about the new SpongeBob-themed goodies began making the rounds online last month. Prior to the crispy marshmallow squares, Kellog’s released the SpongeBob SquarePants cereals. And as per our trusty Instagram snack sleuths, there’s still more coming our way! Apparently, there’s a Nutri-Grain breakfast bar, again from Kellog’s, as well as toaster pastries from Pop-Tarts.

It turns out that user @thetastyturtle has more photos of in-store SpongeBob-themed treats to share with us. In a separate post, she shared photos of the new Pop-Tarts toaster pastries and Gummy Krabby Patties Candy.

According to the post, both photos were courtesy of the user’s sister who spotted them in Walmart. Obviously, they won’t be around forever, so you better strike fast!
