Pillsbury has undoubtedly revolutionized the way we prepare and consume our favorite baked goodies. From offering heat-and-eat and ready-to-bake mixes, the brand continues to redefine baking traditions with its new “safe to eat raw” formula. And for this year’s holiday season, the brand is finally treating us with a ready-to-eat-raw gingerbread cookie dough!
First of all, we understand that baking cookies during the holidays has long been a family tradition for many. However, let’s admit it—it can get quite tedious having to prepare a full-course Christmas spread from scratch. Well, luckily, Pillsbury has already got desserts and snacks covered with this new refrigerated gingerbread rolls.
Pillsbury’s new gingerbread cookie dough is safe to eat raw, so you can finally munch on it without the guilt!
And the best part now is that you can eat it straight out of its packaging without feeling guilty or paranoid! Simply roll out the dough evenly until it’s thin enough for your cookie cutters. Then, pop them into the oven to bake for a few minutes, or pop them straight into your mouth. The choice is totally yours! But if you don’t have time for any of that, then, by all means, eat it by the spoonful!

As of writing, the gingerbread dough is already listed on Pillsbury’s and Walmart’s respective websites. However, it appears that it’s not available for purchase just yet. Likewise, we still haven’t got word that it’s already available in stores. Nevertheless, we have a hunch that it’s going to hit the shelves real soon! Better keep a sharp lookout for these green rolls!
The upcoming gingerbread flavor will be joining Pillsbury’s three existing refrigerated cookie variants. These include Chocolate Chip, Sugar and Reese’s Peanut Butter. Apparently, the brand is in the process of transitioning all its cookie dough products to “safe to eat raw.” They’re expecting to complete the transition by the end of summer 2020.

In the meantime, the brand recommends looking for their “safe to eat raw” seal to determine product eligibility and following the packaging’s serving suggestion to ensure safety.
