Tattoos come in different forms. They are, after all, created with unique personal motivations and executed by tattooists with distinctive styles. So, many tattoo enthusiasts prefer their body art to be visually shocking and as visible as possible. But, some prefer their tattoos to be sleek and minimal, and others would rather keep it as a secret that only a few would know about. Ilya Brezinski’s tattoo designs are somewhere in the middle. He combines the two ink-work aesthetics to create the most fascinating and otherworldly tattoos you’ll ever see.
Of course, we’ve featured plenty of incredibly talented tattoo artists before. And each and every of them have left us all considering getting our first (or fifth) piece of body art because their technique is just so awesome. Take for example Annita Maslov, who creates nature-inspired tattoos with a Gothic touch and Ayhan Karadag who creates whimsical body art that looks as if they’d been taken from a storybook page.

Ilya Brezinski creates surreal tattoo designs that go along with the body’s natural curvature
So, Ilya Brezinski is an accomplished Belarussian artist based in St. Petersburg, Russia. The accomplished illustrator is a master at applying pointillism and blackwork into his inkwork. But that’s not the only detail that makes Brezinski’s tattoos stand out.
See, unlike most tattoo artists who only focus on the design they’re inking onto their patron’s skin, Brezinski uses the subtle curvatures of the human body to complete his ink-works. This allows him to create captivating body art that effortlessly adapts to the area where the patron wants their tattoo placed.

His monochromatic tattoos are very striking
You might say that if you’re looking to show off your ink, your best bet would be to get vibrant colored tattoos. But Ilya’s work begs to differ because his designs are done purely in black ink and they are all stunning. Brezinski’s monochromatic masterpieces have a surreal effect, which is largely created by the tattooist’s masterful shading technique. The clean execution of his technique allows him to create work you won’t be able to stop admiring.

So, on his Behance portfolio, you’ll see that Brezinski has a penchant for re-imagining the mundane into otherworldly objects. For example, Brezinski tattooed a horse jockey riding a Parasaurolophus across a patron’s upper chest, then a black cat traipsing across a tightrope that stretches across his female patron’s upper chest area. Since the body is considered a vast canvas by tattooists, Brezinski makes sure to fill the space his patron wants to have decorated as tastefully as possible.

Not all his tattoos are solid black
It seems like Brezinski creates tattoos in two styles. One features solid silhouettes and the other features clean, minimal lines that use negative space to complete the design. And sometimes, he combines these two techniques to create a unique and compelling tattoo, like when he inked a trio of synchronized swimmers on his patron’s triceps. His minimalist tattoos highlight his talent for illustration.
