Somewhere over the rainbow, there’s a place that transports you to the magical City of Emeralds. The Roxbury in New York is a contemporary Catskill lodging that offers not just a comfy place to spend the night but also a place where guests can make their fantasies come alive. In fact, it even has a Wizard of Oz-themed hotel room for all fans of the 1939 film. Stepping into the room, guests are instantly transported into the fantastical world where they can play the role of Dorothy in search for the Wizard of Oz.
The hotel room flaunts various hues of green to evoke the ambience of being inside the Emerald City. It also has a yellow brick road on the floor which leads through the center of the room. The yellow pathway joins onto a wall-size painting that seems to lead to the majestic City of Emeralds. Amusingly, the room also includes a pair of bolster pillows in the shape of the iconic ruby slippers. And hanging lights in the shape of Tin Man’s hat.
Wizard of Oz-Themed Hotel Room at The Roxbury
“It’s not way above the chimney tops, but your troubles will melt like lemon drops in this room,” says The Roxbury. “Yes, folks, a yellow brick road goes right through the center of the room (next to the king size bed and sofa bed) until it joins into a wall-size painting of our version of the Emerald City.”
The bathroom also sports the same magical theme with its green-colored tiles. It also features a mural of the poisonous poppy field to help soothe your senses while taking a bath. The Wizard of Oz room is part of the hotel’s Big King Themes. Rooms under this class are equipped with king size beds, enormous two-person bath tubs, dual showerheads, dual sink vanity areas, and sofa bed areas. Amenities include free breakfast, A/C, Wi-Fi, Netflix streaming, DVD player, fridge, coffee machine and microwave.
If you’re ready to travel to the wonderful world of the Wizard’s Emeralds, book a reservation now. However, we’re sorry to inform you that the Wizard of Oz room is fully booked until 26th October. If you hurry, you can still reserve a spot from 27th October onwards.
