Incorporating a bit of nature into your space is always a great idea. Of course, adding a few indoor plants is a foolproof way to do so. However, if you’re looking for something that’s functional, then these wooden tables by French furniture company Ben & Manu might just pique your interest. Featuring sculpted miniature mountainscapes on the surface, each piece is a nod to the stunning landscapes of America and Europe.
Founded by Benoit Vauthier and Manu Lerendu, Ben & Manu specializes in handcrafting bespoke furniture pieces and sculptures inspired by nature. They’re particularly known for their signature “Relief” tables that are furnished with intricately chiseled alps on top. Aside from paying homage to majestic mountain views, these charming tables are also proof of the artistic duo’s exceptional woodcarving skills.

Vauthier and Lerendu met in 2012 on the benches of the Quebec Cabinetmaking Institute in Canada. After realizing their common passion for contemporary creations, the two went on and collaborated on a variety of competition pieces. Soon enough, they were able to develop their signature style. Combining design and functionality, each creation is truly a work of art. Following their success, they decided to take their partnership to the next level and established their own brand.

French furniture company Ben & Manu creates charming wooden tables that feature hand-sculpted majestic mountain views on top
They use locally sourced wood and traditional sculpting tools for their one-of-a-kind creations. And as for their source of inspiration? It’s none other than the timeless beauty of nature. Aside from tables that highlight delicate mountain slopes, they also create TV stands and cabinets that feature subtle seabed gradations and intricate topographic patterns.
“We draw our inspiration from the power and the poetry of the great mountainous or marine spaces to develop furniture with clean lines inviting to reverie and contemplation.”
