For the creative artist, inspiration is everywhere and even everyday objects can become an integral part of an artwork. We’ve seen talented artists like Helga and Vincent Bal use and incorporate everyday items into their artworks. And we’re excited to introduce another talented artist into this impressive bunch. Kristian Mensa is a dancer and illustrator from the Czech Republic. You might recognize him as a popular dancer. But his flexibility and elegance as a dancer also reflects on his clever illustrations as he also makes a name for himself as an artist.
Mensa often works with everyday objects to create fun illustrations that embody childlike imagination. He sees potential in common items as an art medium and playfully adds them into his artworks. Using the pen to draw bold lines and some few subtle brush strokes, he reimagines mundane items that we see and use every day, transforming them into fun illustration with a whimsical combination of 2D and 3D elements.
Everyday Objects Turned Into Fun Illustrations

A button can make a coffee table, a pin can make a penguin’s head, a cashew nut can make a guitarist’s hair, and a tomato can make a boxing glove. Mensa tries to show how inspiring the world can be. And these everyday objects that we usually see uninteresting are actually more fun than they might appear. All you need is imagination and the creativity to turn whatever you imagine into reality.
