Yellowstone is one of the greatest parks in the United States, and perhaps even the world. It's famed as an excellent place to spot all kinds of wildlife, but due to its remote location, it's also the perfect destination for a spot of star gazing. Photographer David Lane is well aware of this fact and actually spent four months photographing the galaxy over Yellowstone Park with absolutely breathtaking results. You might think that you've seen the night sky, but most of us will never have seen it like this before. We can hardly believe our eyes! The sad fact is that light from our towns and cities obscures the stars in such a way that town-dwellers are seeing just a fraction of what's up there. On his Facebook page, Lane wrote…
“Get away from the light drive out 20-30 miles out of town and look up on a clear dark night and you may see something that will forever change your life. This is what a galaxy looks like from the inside.”

These photos are incredible. Witnessing a sight like these in person would be one of life's highlights.
