The 'Festas do Povo' (People's Festival) aka 'Festas das Flores' (Flower Festival) in Campo Maior, Alentejo, Portugal is one of the most incredible paper-art spectacles ever. The local residents have worked on preparations for this year's festival, held at the end of August…for 4 whole months! There are garlands and canopies of ornate paper flowers bedecking houses, roads and even churches. The streets of the entire community are alive with color and happiness at every turn and everyone helps out. A must see!
