Kelly McCallum is an artist who knows how to stand out from the pack, by picking the weirdest mediums to work with. Her latest choice of materials may disgust, repel or even engender fear in some of you. For in the below series of images, McCallum used hundreds of real butterfly wings to create colorful, ghoulish skull collages, as well as actual tarantula legs to fashion creepy looking flowers. The artist and jeweler told BoredPanda she has always been fascinated by insects, ever since she was a little girl. She finds it curious how some people can be enchanted by butterflies and dragonflies, yet disgusted by spiders and cockroaches. "It is this conflict which I explore in my work," she says. Take a peek, if you dare!
