Along with flower arranging and origami, one of Japan's most traditional art forms is decorative knot tying, or mizuhiki. Now, after two years of development by artist Yu Aso, the art form has made the leap to rubber, with the launch of the new 'Mizuhikiband'. Featured in the 2013 Kokuyo Design Awards, the Mizuhikiband aims to make the practice of decorative knot tying more foreigner-friendly. The cute rubber bands, which feature a hanamusubi, or butterfly knot, will retail in packs of seven in four different colors. To be released sometime in October, they will retail for around 460 Yen.
