Ever wondered what it would be like to sleep in a room submerged in the sea? To be up close and personal with the fish and other sea creatures? To gaze at the stars while floating in the ocean? Well you can do all of those things (at a cost) at this amazing new resort that’s sure to be the next must-go honeymoon destination.
An amazing experience awaits you at the recently opened underwater room at the Manta Resort on Pemba Island, Zanzibar. It’s a 3 story floating structure which offers you once in a lifetime views from above, below and at sea level. Of course the most spectacular viewing has to be seen from down below in the underwater room, where guests can gaze out of the large viewing glasses at the colorful wildlife that surrounds them. This room sits 13 ft below the surface and as you guessed it, features a luxurious bed fit for 2 so you can drift off to sleep from the relaxing motion of the water. Awesome or what?!
When you can tear yourself away from the stunning views below, why not relax and soak up some rays on the top deck? Or if you’re the more active kind of person then scuba diving is a must. The room has been placed 250m away from land so you can truly enjoy your getaway with your loved one in private. The structure has been anchored down in the center of a blue hole, which is covered with a 164 ft wide area of coral reef. Just imagine the stunning colors and creatures you will see down there!
The Manta Resort was designed by Mikael Genberg from the Swedish company Genberg Underwater Hotels. They chose Genberg because he had previously designed a similar structure on a lake in Sweden. This magical stay will cost you $1,500 (£923) per couple per night, but with all those stunning views and private experience we think it’s well worth it.
