We all love indulging in tasty treats. But it surely becomes extra challenging when they’re too cute to eat! From hearty hotpots with gelatinous bear-shaped broth to delectable cat-shaped bread and more, animal-themed treats are definitely the prime example of this. Well, another Japanese baker has yet again introduced a new contender into the kawaii food category with her charming hamster-shaped cookies.
Known online as Mocha Mocha, this talented culinary artist specializes in making adorable animal-inspired baked goodies. Her latest culinary creation takes inspiration from Djungarian hamsters which are popular pet options, especially for kids.
This Japanese baker creates kawaii hamster-shaped cookies that look too cute to eat!
Just like the real-life dwarf rodents, the biscuits feature a tiny oval body in cream and gray colors. They also come complete with a black dorsal stripe as well as round ears, feet, and tail. To make them even cuter, Mocha Mocha also includes a pair of small round black eyes. In some cases, she renders the eyes as thin lines, depicting that the hamster is dozing off.
Given the variety of expressions and poses that they portray, it’s certainly easy to mistake the cookies for the real thing for any unsuspecting eye. Likewise, it would surely be hard for anyone not to be tempted to give these munchies a pet.
The creative baker also delights in making a bunch of other kawaii confections inspired by other animals like dogs and bears.
Aside from sharing photos of her cute culinary creations on Twitter, she also has a YouTube channel where she documents her process. In the meantime, you may see more of her edible masterpieces below.
