Courtrooms can be scary places, and it's not just criminals who shudder at the thought of them. In cases where the victim of a violent crime is required to testify, facing their attacker in the courtroom is understandably a terrifying and highly emotionally charged prospect. Especially if the victim is a minor. A novel initiative is aiming to help witnesses get through their ordeal, and it involves bringing dogs into the courtroom. The specially trained Retrievers and Labs sit next to witnesses, to comfort them as they relive traumatic events. It's been proven they can lower a person's blood pressure and reduce their anxiety. "Courthouse Dogs" was founded in 2004. It currently employs 87 dogs, working in 28 states. Take a look!
