Halloween has its roots tracing back thousands of years ago. And it was originally celebrated at the end of the harvest. People would light bonfires and dress in scary costumes to ward off evil spirits that could menace the living. In 1800s, the tradition was incorporated into All Saints’ Day, a Catholic holiday which is also referred to as All Hallows’ Day. The night before All Hallows’ Day was named ‘All Hallows’ Eve’ which was eventually shortened to ‘Halloween’.
