Who'd have thought you could make art out of decaying plants? Tomoya Matsuura's photographic series, entitled 'Withering Plants', proves this is possible. Matsuura used a scanning electron microscope to capture the finer details of plants in varying stages of decay. The microscope has a higher resolution than an optical microscope, so it was possible to capture the delicate structures of the plants, which cannot be seen by the naked eye. Matsuura plans to exhibit these images in large scale on buildings and walls. "I am thinking of an installation, where people can see the giant exhibition of the tiny plants that live nearby" he writes on BoredPanda. Check out his amazing work below!
