Dillon James sees the world very differently to the majority of people out there. He has a rare condition known as synesthesia, which is when experiencing one sense leads to the involuntary experience of another sense. The experience varies depending on the individual, but those with synesthesia are able to see sounds as shapes and colors, associate numbers and letters with colors, and sometimes, even 'taste' sounds or colors. Dillon shows how he experiences the world by creating works of art. Talking about his work, Dillon wrote…
"My art expresses my attempt to represent how I see the world and its many issues. Each piece of my art is an attempt to show the world from my unique point of view. Projects often consist of multiple works, usually in a range of different media, grouped around specific themes and meanings. During research and production new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work."
