A bandsaw was used to cut the circle, followed by a belt sander to ensure a smooth curve.
The two halves were clamped together.
A router was used to make enough space for the face of the compass.
The bottom shelf and the plywood face had the same diameter.
Everything is coming along nicely!
An iron was used on the veneer around the edges which gave it a smooth finish.
Some paper was stuck to the plywood face and drawing began!
It took quite a while to complete.
Here it the compass needle being made.
An old skateboard ball bearing was used. This allowed the compass needle to spin freely.
