Ghost crumpets have returned to haunt the aisles of Asda this Halloween season. And we are more than willing to invite them into our hollow bellies. No breakfast, snack, or afternoon is ever complete without delicious, tasty English crumpets slathered in butter or berry jam. And now, thanks to Asda’s spooky crumpets, breakfast this Halloween season just got wickedly exciting. Asda’s product developer, Ciara Loker, said in the official press release that:
“Following the success of the fluffy Bunny and Love Heart-shaped toaster treats at Easter and Valentine’s Day, we know that shaped, novelty crumpets are always popular choices amongst our customers. And we couldn’t let Halloween go by wihtout creating these devilish delights, which are no trick and all treat. Last year, our Jack-o’-Lantern crumpets flew off shelves throughout October, so we hope our customers enjoy these spooktastic crumpets for Halloween just as much.”
These spooky ghost crumpets are the perfect breakfast item this Halloween season.
It takes quite a bit of practice to master the simple art of making crumpets from scratch. Plus it takes around 20 to over 2 hours to make, depending on the recipe you’re following. But with Asda’s ghost-shaped crumpets, all you’ve got to do is to pop these creepy crumpets into the toaster for 3-4 minutes. Alternatively, if you don’t have a toaster, you can just put heat it by placing them on a pre-heated grill. But of course, Asda only gave these heating instructions as a guide. Toast, heat your ghost crumpets any way you like!
Stocking up on these ghost crumpets won’t set you back much. A single package containing 6 spooky cakes only costs £1, so filling up an entire shopping basket is quite possible. They’re probably vanishing from Asda’s shelves already, since these ghost crumpets have been available since October 4th. Hopefully you won’t be too late to grab a pack (or a dozen) for you and your family! Shop for Asda’s ghost crumpets here.
