It seems like women's bodies are always under constant scrutiny. The media tells us that people should look a certain way, and that really doesn't leave much room for people whose bodies don't fit the typical idea of beauty. The people over at 'Superdrug Online Doctor' were curious about how ideas and perceptions of beauty vary in different countries. So, they decided to send the image of a volunteer off to designers in 18 different countries, and told them to edit this image in a way that they thought would make her more attractive to the citizens of their country. The results were quite illuminating. Of course, this is highly subjective, as these are only the opinions of one designer as to what the ideal of beauty is in their country, but it does still shed some light, and make you notice some interesting patterns.
