What if you had the lucky opportunity to get yourself a piece of Star Wars furniture. What would you do? Let’s pretend. You’re part of the legions of those Star Wars fans. And, you’re all eagerly waiting for December to come. That’s when the final chapter dawns. The Episode IX, The Rise of Skywalker, is just coming to theaters. As a top fan, you’ve already come to California, visiting Galaxy’s Edge park at Disneyland. Now, you’re bound for Florida. It’s where the Walt Disney World version will be opening in August.
Now, one question stands. Where will you position yourself as you consume the movies with delight? Will it be on your typical, daily sofa? Or, will you rather choose something that would match the vibe of the experience?
Here’s our response the Obi-Wan Kenobi would have it:
“These are the chairs you’re looking for.”
Indeed, the number of officially licensed Star Wars furniture won’t come close to falling short on the market. Most of the items, however, were actually meant to grace the room of kids.
Nonetheless, in the fall of 2018, even adults had the chance. It was when Kenneth Cobonpue, a designer, presented his higher-end version of the Star Wars furniture collection. These were, initially, sold only in Kenneth’s native Philippines.
For the first time now, the higher-level designed Star Wars furniture are available in the United States. You, the die-hard fan, would have the chance to avail of these items from showrooms and select retailers in 11 states, as well as in the Columbia District. Unfortunately for the rest, though, it’s not yet possible to order online.
Kenneth Cobonpue creates a high-end set of Star Wars furniture.
Cobonpue’s Star Wars furniture has been seen on restaurants and hotels all over the globe. We recognize him as someone who uses natural materials (like wicker and rattan) in his projects. Now that’s the very reason why the look of his Star Wars furniture set resembles closely with such native materials. Fascinatingly, the actual materials he used for the furniture were polyethylene, steel, aluminum, and nylon, mostly.
Meanwhile, if you have noticed — while looking at the photos — that Cobonpue’s furniture collection is much more tilted on the Dark Side, you are correct. The artist actually created the black and white armchairs with inspiration from the TIE fighters of the Empire. When you look at them closely, you can immediately picture yourself hearing the fly-by sound! Also, the other two chairs in the set appear to invoke Darth Vader as well as Darth Sidious, known as the evil Emperor Palpatine.
Moreover, there’s also the Chewie Rocking Stool. You know it’s quite an homage to Wookiee Chewbacca. Finally, there’s a lamp that features Jedi warriors. They are all using their LED lightsabers while fighting against Sith lord in red.
Now, isn’t the collection just amazing?
