The candy lords over at Hershey’s surely know to play with our hearts and taste buds. There’s a new Kit Kat Lemon Crisp bar in town, and it has got us looking forward to summer. And yes, it’s not even part of the lineup that the brand teased us with at the end of 2019. Well played, Kit Kat, well played. What a great way to kick off the year!
Certified junk food sleuth @candyhunting was among the first who posted the photo of the new chocolate variant, courtesy of another Instagram user @brickt13. As per the packaging, the new crisp wafers come in “lemon-flavored white crème.”

Moving on, various Instagram users have already spotted the new treat at Food Lion. According to another user, @mnmtwinz, the new variant will be around until the Spring and Easter seasons. Each bag contains individually wrapped Miniature Kit Kat wafers which will come in either 7.5 or 9-ounce pack variant.

Unfortunately, that’s about everything we know so far. Nonetheless, everyone who has tried it seems to be loving the citrusy white crème mix. User @never.lackin.on.snackin noted that
“the lemon flavor is clearly there but not sour or bitter like an actual lemon.”

Meanwhile, one staff of the food review blog The Impulsive Buy has also spotted the treat in Fry’s. Here’s the verdict: “As far as my mouth is concerned, it’s basically lemon-flavored white chocolate.”
We don’t know about you, but we’re really curious how this sweet-sour tandem turns out on a wafer bar! And if you’re part of the #teamlemon squad, then you certainly wouldn’t want to miss out on these Kit Kat Lemon Crisp bars.

To be honest, it’s a quite different approach versus other Kit Kat flavors. If you’re going to ask us, we’d bet that it would make it to Japan’s list of strangest flavors. Well, it turns out that there’s a salt and lemon variant in Japan under Nestle. Plus, there’s also a lemon drizzle Kit Kat variant that has made its way to the UK shores. So, it’s safe to assume that it’s not an entirely new concept at all.
Better start hunting for these bright yellow bags before other Kit Kat variants start invading your local grocery stores! Take note, there’s four more coming our way!
