In October Lisa Waud will be filling the rooms of a long-abandoned house in Detroit with as many as 100,000 flowers. In 2014 the florist paid $500 for two abandoned properties and hopes her plans for them showcase the idea that disused and abandoned places can be utilized for art or business.
The photos below are a 'taster' of her main event. Waud took 2 days to fill one of the houses with 4,000 flowers way back in May as a preview of what is to come. Inspired by Christian Dior's 2012 couture show as well as Christo and Jeanne-Claude's 'Pont Neuf Wrapped' Parisian project, Waud aims to highlight environmental issues as an integral aspect of the project.
