A UK organization called Hubbub has come up with novel and frankly, quite genius ideas to encourage people to stop littering. The #neatstreets campaign uses an array of eye catching public displays designed to make people stop and think twice before chucking their cigarette butts left, right and center, or spitting out their chewing gum on the street. One clever project encourages smokers to vote on different topics by adding their cigarette butt to a divided receptacle, while another uses a device that plays music when a cigarette butt is safely deposited in it. Another gets gum users to connect the dots with their chewed rubbish on specially designed boards. The campaign, which runs until October, is centered around Villiers Street, in Westminster.
