Are you one of us who can’t get over a chocolate bar? Well, Nestle has a no sugar added one on KitKat. Oh, we don’t think it’s that bad. It’s actually “naturally sweetened,” and it’s got 70% of dark chocolate in it.
So, what this chocolate bar really doesn’t have is refined sugar. It’s just that they’ve extracted sugar from cacao’s pulp. And what does that mean? Well, it means the chocolate bar, in fact, tastes good! Plus, it’s definitely healthier. As for Nestle, this new option is also more eco-friendly. What they’ve been using is a part of the fruit that others would just usually crush.
Nestle has a new no sugar added chocolate bar, and KitKat is the first to feature it.
Patrice Bula, head of the company’s strategic business units, says the following of the product:
“We’re proud to bring chocolate lovers a new chocolate made entirely from the cocoa fruit without adding refined sugar. This is a real innovation which uses the natural sweetness of the cocoa pulp to provide a pure, novel chocolate experience.”
Apparently, the project is innovative as it’s the first time for the pulp surrounding the cocoa beans to be used as a natural sweetener to the chocolate bar. And that’s according to Nestle! Typically, though, they would use sugar while doing the fermentation.
Now, this Cocoa Fruit Chocolate will see us in Fall 2019. So, if you could go visit Japan at this time of the year, you can try it in there! Among other brands, KitKat will be the first to adopt such a unique, no sugar added chocolate bar. This innovative feat, by the way, follows that of the Ruby Chocolate as well as the Volcanic Chocolate.
