We may have a new reason to flurry over McDonald’s. Pumpkin spice latte may the drink of the season, but this minty green ice cream concoction just might change that. The magicians over at McDonalds blended together the Shamrock Shake and the Oreo McFlurry. The result? The new Oreo Mint McFlurry! And we can’t decide if it’s supposed to be a Halloween ice cream treat or one for the holidays!
“So it looks like my local McDonald’s is testing a new version of my all-time favorite dessert on their menu, the Oreo McFlurry,”
Ian K. shared on his Youtube channel Peep THIS Out on September 21.
In his video, the food vlogger presented the fresh new McFlurry and gave us an idea on what we’re missing out on.
“You can’t go wrong with vanilla soft serve and crushed Oreo to begin with. But when you add mint to the mix, now things are getting interesting.”
So basically we think that the Oreo Mint McFlurry is possibly McDonald’s version of the beloved mint chocolate ice cream. We’ve got the vanilla soft serve mixed with the crushed chocolate Oreo cookie and the minty flavor from the Shamrock Shake syrup. This combination definitely makes for an interesting dessert. Plus, its striking green color makes it fit right in with the Halloween and Christmas holidays.
You might not see the Oreo Mint McFlurry at your local McDonald’s (yet).
Unfortunately, the Oreo Mint McFlurry is only available for a limited time at selected stores. McDonald’s is yet to officially release it nationwide for everyone to try. Hopefully if they hear news of a flurry from McFlurry fans, McDonald’s might consider including it in their upcoming lineups so we can all get to try it.
If the Oreo Mint McFlurry isn’t made available to your local McDonald’s, you can still choose between the classic Oreo McFlurry and the M&M McFlurry. However, if you really want to try this minty offering, you can try to make it at home. McDonald’s Shamrock Shake copycat recipes are everywhere on the internet. All you have to do is add a bit more vanilla ice cream and mix in some crushed Oreo cookies!
The Oreo Mint McFlurry retails for $2.99 at the McDonald’s store that Peep THIS Out discovered it in. So if you’re ever in South California, you might want to check out some McDonald’s stores!
