Two Colorado-based artists, Deepti Nair and Harikrishnan Panicker, create the most beautiful and ethereal paper crafted light boxes that you will ever see. These two talented artists, who go by the collective name Hari and Deepti, draw their inspiration from traditional Balinese shadow puppets. The results are absolutely stunning and look like scenes from fairytales, myths and legends, though they mostly come from the artists' imaginations. Just to look at photos of these art pieces transports you to another, more magical world, so they must be amazing to see in person, illuminated only by stripes of LED lights behind the paper. Talking about their art, Hari and Deepti have said,
"Paper is brutal in its simplicity as a medium. What amazes us about the paper cut light boxes is the dichotomy of the piece in its lit and unlit state, the contrast is so stark that it has this mystical effect on the viewers."
The series of images you see below is titled, "Oh, The Places You Will Go!"

Imagine seeing these in a dark gallery, where the only light in the whole place was emanating from the boxes. It would be a truly magical experience.
