The executors of the estate owned by Madame de Florian had an incredible surprise when they investigated her apartment in Paris. Unfortunately, Madame de Florian passed away in 2010, aged 91, but what nobody knew was that she had an apartment in Paris which she had fled in the 1940s, when the Nazis invaded France, and (for unknown reasons) had never returned to. Nobody had set foot in this apartment for 70 years, and it was jam-packed full of gorgeous items from the previous century. However, what was perhaps the most incredible find, was a painting of a woman wearing pink by Italian artist, Giovanni Boldini. The painting was of Marthe de Florian, one of Boldini's muses and lovers, who in fact turned out to be the grandmother of the recently deceased Madame de Florian. The painting in question sold at auction for 2.1 million Euros (around $3.4 million), not a bad find! Check out this stunning apartment!
