You may think that there is nothing unusual about the use of colored pencils in the art world however when you look at the work of Jennifer Maestre you might just change your mind. You see Maestre creates awesome sculptures from hundreds of colored and plain pencils. With flowing organic-style shapes similar to sea urchins and flowers, her sculptures are mesmerizing beautiful.
The artist saws each pencil into inch long sections, drills a hole through each one and 'sews' the pieces together into the incredible formations below. The balance between the smooth and pointed parts is so incredibly effective that you just can't stop staring at these awesome pieces!
