    James Comer You're right. Just don't put it in the sun. I'd get one for Tank, but he'd probably gnaw the hose off.

    My newfie Mooch has this & it's great! We use a heated bowl in the winter.

    It has a white hose…I have our's connected to one of those 4-way spigots & keep it in the shade. The hose it comes with is only 4 feet long. The water stays cold in the shade. We've had our's for about 8 years now. If it ever wears out we will definitely buy another one! If you are worried about your dog chewing the hose just go to your local hardware store to get one of those metal electrical line protectors (looks like a giant spring). The hose on this is smaller diameter than a garden hose by about 1/2. The connection on it is garden hose size though. If you don't have shade handy where you want to hook it up you can always bury the hose under about an inch or 2 of earth or strip of old carpet. Believe me it's worth it to make sure your dogs has a constant supply of water when you are out for the day.

    You can buy these at any farm & ranch supply store like Big R, Tractor Supply, etc online for about $20. They are made of metal & last forever.
