Here are the answers…
1. There are four tourists in the camp. There are four place settings and four names on the list.
2. They've been there a few days, at least, as you can see that a spider has had the time to build a web, in between the tent and the tree!
3. There are oars by the tree, so they arrived there by boat!
4. There must be a town nearby as there is a chicken wandering around, and chickens are not wild, roaming animals. Civilization is near!
5. The wind is blowing south! Take a look at the windsock and the way the trees are growing!
6. Because we know where north is, we can work out where the sun is. It's shining from the east we know it's morning!
7. 'Alex' went to chase butterflies. You can see the net over the hedges, as well as the butterfly he's trying to catch!
8. 'Colin' was the person on duty the previous day. How to work that one out? Well, Colin is the one rooting through the backpack marked with a 'C'. Alex is off catching butterflies, the tripod sticking out of 'James's' bag shows he is the one taking pictures, which means that 'Peter' must be on duty today. And, the roster shows Colin is on duty the day before Peter!
9. It's August 8th. How can this be deduced? The duty roster shows Peter is on duty on the 8th. We already know he is on duty 'today', and there's a watermelon on the ground. They ripen in August, so there you go!
