General Mills announced an exciting new Star Wars cereal on May 4th. This upcoming cereal follows General Mill’s line of intergalactic breakfast offerings that launched way back in 2015. Every release has featured popular characters from the franchise. So since Baby Yoda launched a thousand memes upon his debut, it’s only fitting that he would be the new cereal’s face! This Baby Yoda-themed morning meal will surely give us the force to power through the day!
The new cereal offering was announced via General Mills’ Instagram. Prior to its official introduction, The Child cereal was showcased at the New York Toy Fair in February. As expected, the fair saw an impressive haul of merchandise inspired by The Child, and the General Mills cereal certainly stood out. Back then, the company described the cereal as “fruity flavored cereal with Yoda shaped marshmallows”. But now we know that The Child cereal comprises of sweetened corn puffs and marshmallows shaped like Baby Yoda!

General Mills is the only company to make Star Wars cereal
When the first movie hit movie theaters, over 2,000 cereals featured promotional material for the film. However, only General Mills got the rights to release officially-branded morning treats. The company’s made three batches of themed cereal so far. They launched the Episode II cereal in two exclusive boxes for Attack of the Clones in 2002.
Then they released a new range of cereal in 2015 to 2016 that primarily featured the images of Yoda and Darth Vader. This variety also came with fun marshmallows shaped like two lightsabers, R2-D2,Yoda, Stormtroopers, and a Jedi Starfighter. And last year, General Mills released another batch of cereal in honor of The Rise of The Skywalker.
