Halloween is just around the corner, so everything pumpkin-themed is making a comeback once again. Lately, there’s been a buzz about a unique and magical take on Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte—the Cinderella Latte. Of course, it’s named after the Disney Princess who is known for her white pumpkin carriage.
Ever since its release in 2003, Pumpkin Spice Latte has been one of the seasonal drinks that customers look forward to each year. This means that the Starbucks Cinderella Latte will also be around for a limited time only. So, better strike fast to get your hands on this coveted drink.
As a matter of fact, the Starbucks Cinderella Latte has been around for quite some time already. It started gaining hype back in the Pumpkin Spice Season of 2018. Thanks to former Starbucks barista Erica, there’s no need for a fairy godmother to get a hold of this drink’s secret recipe. Erica is more popularly known as one of the creative minds behind the online apparel brand, Happiest Tees On Earth. She established this brand along with her husband to provide shirts with designs inspired by Disney characters. Likewise, she is also the brilliant mind behind the Cinderella Latte.
Erica revealed the story behind this clever concoction on her brand’s Instagram handle, HappiestTeesOnEarth. In a post published on October 2018, she mentioned that she was a Starbucks barista for seven years in the Seattle area. In the hopes of spreading “a little magic” to her customers and coworkers, she came up with special Disney-inspired beverages.
Basically, the Cinderella Latte is just your regular PSL with a pump (or two) of white mocha sauce. She noted,
“The white pumpkin reminded me of Cinderella’s coach and that’s why I call it the Cinderella Latte.”
It immediately gained popularity at that time and was well accepted by the online community. It appeared in Starbucks’ Leaf Rakers Society—a Facebook group dedicated to lovers of fall and pumpkins. Similarly, it generated buzz in other food and drink websites such as Barista Life and The Kitchn.
It may be 100° outside but it’s September 1st which means my favorite season is approaching. Turned the AC low af to decorate the house with all the fall decor and got myself a Cinderella Latte ??? pic.twitter.com/1gkwgmVCG1

According to her, the easiest way is to order a regular Pumpkin Spice Latte. The trick is to substitute half of the pumpkin spice sauce with white mocha sauce. For instance, in a grande PSL, you would normally get four pumps of pumpkin spice sauce in it. This means that for your grande Cinderella Latte, you would need two pumps of pumpkin spice sauce and two pumps white mocha sauce. But wait, there’s more. The best part about this recipe? You can order it any way you want it—hot, iced, or even as a Frappuccino.
Starbucks has been long acclaimed for giving customers the power to customize their drinks. With its customizable menu, the possibilities are endless. It’s just a matter of knowing the right ingredients, coupled with the right quantities. That said, there’s no single way to enjoy a Cinderella Latte.

In fact, one Leaf Rakers Society member suggested a ratio of 1:1 pump for pumpkin spice and white mocha sauces for a grande PSL. While it tasted good, it somehow lacked a kick of that pumpkin spice. Another member recommended two pumps of pumpkin spice sauce to one pump of mocha sauce. If you’re feeling extra experimental, you may also heed the advice of another member and opt for a White Chocolate Mocha base instead—then just request for two pumps of pumpkin spice sauce and a pump of white mocha sauce.
Ultimately, the key to enjoying a good cup of Cinderella Latte is to keep its two main sauces in mind—pumpkin spice and white mocha. After which, it totally depends on what suits your taste. Additionally, if you’re trying to stray away from caffeine, you may also go for a Pumpkin Spice Crème Frappuccino, just make sure to request for an additional pump of white mocha sauce. Don’t worry, you’ll surely get the same pumpkin spice goodness.
