The '90s and early '00s produced a lot of bad and forgettable teen movies, but '10 Things I Hate About You' was not one of them. In fact, we'd go as far to say that it's, possibly, the best teen movie of all time! What's more, it was loosely based on William Shakespeare's 'The Taming of the Shrew', so you can pretty much claim intellectual brownie points every time you watch it. There's no denying it's a great movie, but if you need a little reminder, here are 16 reasons why! Take a look!
Kat was a strong female lead!
And Patrick was her perfect foil!
Ms. Perky was absolutely hilarious!
But also highly inappropriate!
Larry Miller was the quintessential overprotective father.
And, he totally scared you about teen pregnancy, too!
Every scene between Kat and Patrick was perfect.
And, Heath Ledger (who played Patrick)…. need we say more?! Sigh.
Kat and Pat's flirting was always on point.
Andrew Keegan played the best dumb villain!
Bianca was wonderfully ditsy!
And, almost made it sound deep at times.
When she was paired with Gabrielle Union every conversation was gold!
Kat always had the wittiest comebacks.
Kat was the best inspiration for your attempts to wind up your parents!
It was simply the greatest love story of the '90s!
