Having a job or career helps you set your life goals and start working towards them. In other words, your job gives you a sense of direction that also allows you to earn money and learn new things. As job seekers begin the process of applying for a job, they make sure to take stock of their education, technical skills and experiences that would make them an ideal employee. But what would you do if you stumbled upon a job posting with ridiculously unrealistic requirements?
That’s the case with Sebastián Ramírez when he saw a job post which requires at least 4 years of experience in FastAPI. In case you didn’t know, FastAPI is a web framework for building APIs based on standard Phyton type hints. In layman’s terms, this is a modern framework for building software applications that allows data transmission between one another. And in case you didn’t know, Sebastián Ramírez was the one who created FastAPI. The most surprising thing is that, Ramírez created FastAPI almost 2 years ago. So, that means even the creator of FastAPI wouldn’t qualify for the said job posting, which is absolutely ridiculous.
This Guy Took To Twitter To Talk About A Job Post With Unrealistic Requirements
After Ramírez shared his experience on his Twitter account, many people were able to relate to him. One of the people who commented on the thread, Jens Ravens, also shared his own job hunting experience. He applied for a work that requires an in-depth knowledge of iOS. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the job because the interviewer thought he doesn’t understand the concept of a particular iOS library. But in the end, it turned out that Ravens was the creator of that certain iOS library.
This Guy Also Shared His Rather Hilarious Job Hunting Experience
Ramírez and Ravens are not the only individuals who have fallen victims to unrealistic job requirements. In fact, there are several job postings that are absurdly out of touch in requirements or offer unreasonably low pay for what they require. Now it seems that many companies have turned more and more impractical over the years by listing every possible skill out there, making it almost impossible to fill the position. What these companies don’t know is that they’re actually missing out on competent candidates due to their unrealistic criteria.
