Imgur user dobuk came up with a beautifully personal way to propose. He built his own custom ring box and designed the actual engagement ring too. He started off with a circle of wax.
Using a magnifying glass and his tools, he began to carve…
…Until the ring took shape.
He then added leaf details to the sides of the ring.

Next he needed a box.
He created paintings for each side of the ring box.
